A tongue in cheek twist to the idiom green fingers, Neighbourly, Green Finger-nails, explores a participatory form of art-making using vegetal clippings from the allotment crops of community gardeners in the artist’s neighbourhood. The leaves had been experimented with for their transformative quality by exposure to the Sun, to reproduce selected images taken as part of a photography programme. This project - tangential to his broader interest in agri-food systems - attempts to also question how can art coincide with a recreational activity like horticulture through this alternative process.
